humba


FILIPINO HUMBA (BRAISED PORK)
Humba also known as braised pork is a popular Filipino food in the Visayas and Mindanao region. This is always prepared during occasions such as parties, birthdays, fiesta and even on weddings.
Ingredients:
1 cup water
1 pound pork belly or pork hocks (cut itno sserving pieces)
1 piece bay leaf
1/4 cup browqn sugar
3 cloves garlic, crushed
5 pieces hard boiled eggs
1 tsp oil
1/4 tsp pepper
1 tsp peppercorns
salt to taste
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup vinegar
Procedure:
1. Combine all ingredients in a big pot and bring to boil.
2. Lower heat and simmer for about an hour or until pork is tender.
3. If you want to add hard-boiled eggs, let it sits for a few minutes before it's done to let thew sauces covered into it.
4. Remove bay leaf and peppercorns (if used) just before serving. Serve hot.
